Abstract
This paper attempts to relate, in a quantitative manner, the aerodynamic characteristics of sailplanes with the meteorologyical properties of thermal convections, so that the soaring efficiency and flight reliability of such aircraft can be explicitly predicted.... A new flight procedure is presented by which data on the most important parameters governing the thermal properties can be quantitatively determined.......
