In the lower troposphere, areas of ascending motion are known to prevail below and parallel with cumulus streets.....whereas pronounced cirrus bands in many cases lie cross the wind direction... Our photogrammetrical studies in dealing with these questions, were primarily aimed at finding the principles on which the meteorological interpretations of photographs taken by the Tiros and Aeros satellites should be based....
